William Dennis

“Mike” William Michael Dennis, 80 of Normal, passed away at 3:31 a.m. Thursday January 23, 2025, at The Loft Rehab and Nursing Home.

Mike was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Martin Carroll and Ada (Ditterline) Dennis. They preceded him in death. He married Marcia Raaum on June 3, 1973, in Fithian, Illinois. She survives.

Surviving are one son, Justin Dennis; three siblings, Steve (Ruth) Dennis, Sandy Dennis, Robin Dennis, nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Ron Schultz.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Heather Dennis and two sisters, Sherry and Connie.

Mike worked for the city of Bloomington as an Electrician and as a High School Math Teacher for many years. He also took great pride in his lawn care business.

Mike loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

He will not only be known as a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend but as a United States Army Airborne Veteran.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 28, 2025, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home. His visitation will be held one hour prior.

Graveside service will follow at Funks Grove Cemetery.
