William "Butch" H. Shepherd Sr. Obituary (1942 - 2021)

William H. "Butch" Shepherd, Sr. Norwood, MO - Formerly of Heyworth, Il. -- William H. "Butch" Shepherd, Sr. 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at his daughters home in Atlanta, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, after a short battle with mesothelioma. Cremation rites will be accorded. Per his wishes, no services are planned. Butch was born December 31,1942 in Heyworth, IL, to Harold Elliott and Alberta Ethel Shepherd. He was first united in marriage to Marjorie E. Deerwester on September 9th, 1962, and later to Lisa Terrell on July 8th, 1985. Butch is survived by five daughters: Tina (Carl) Ross, Atlanta, Il., Christina Kisner, Bloomington, Il., Shari (Marvin) Gordon, McLean, Il., Cindy Cotner, Shirley Il., Sandy (Jackie) Moore, Lexington, Il.; 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David "Tuffy" (Lily) Shepherd, Clinton, Il., Russell (Val) Shepherd, Virginia; one sister, Phyllis Shepherd, Maroa, Il. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Virgil "Pete" Shepherd, Donald Shepherd; one son, William H. "Butchie" Shepherd, Jr.; one grandson, Nathaniel Shepherd. Butch retired from Ranching while living in Wyoming. He worked at Urban Sand and Gravel as a dredge operator and Tyson Foods in Arkansas for many years. Butch was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, garden and raise animals. He lived in Wyoming and Montana for 12 years before retiring to Missouri.
