Wayne F. Roley Obituary (1932

Wayne F. Roley, 82, of Bloomington, died peacefully at 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal. Wayne loved life, his family and his multitude of friends, but was ready to move on after numerous serious health issues in recent months. He is now with the Lord and is no longer in pain.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. Interment will follow services at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois, the Community Cancer Center, both in Normal, or the University of Illinois Foundation-I Fund in Urbana, IL. He married Ruth Ioerger on June 29, 1952 in Minonk. Wayne and Ruth would have been married 62 years the day after Waynes death.Surviving are, Ruth, of Bloomington; three children, Debbie (Joe) Sullivan of Decatur, Lori Roley-Moews of Bloomington and Jeff (Shelley) Roley of Champaign; seven grandchildren, Luke Sullivan, Drew (Meg) Sullivan, Reed (Leslie) Sullivan and Beau Sullivan, Tonya (Tom) Clausing, Alle Roley and Baley Roley; one great-granddaughter, Lea Grace Sullivan. Also surviving is one brother, Tom (Sue) Roley of Los Angeles, CA.He was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Scott Moews, and two brothers, Bill Roley and Roger Roley.Wayne was a United States Air Force veteran. After being honorably discharged, he went to trade school and then started his first of many businesses in Bloomington, Roley Refrigeration. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 99 in Bloomington for over 40 years. He loved cars and motorcycles and was in the car business for many years; and also owned numerous food and drink establishments.Wayne was a long time member of the Elks Club and Lakeside Country Club and loved to play golf. He was a member of the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics Loyalty Circle and attended Illinois basketball and football games going back to 1975. As a generous supporter of the U of I, he and Ruth are also members of the universitys Presidents Council.Wayne will be remembered as a guy who loved to have fun with family and friends and whose heart overflowed with generosity. Needless to say, perhaps, but he will be missed dearly by his family and everyone who knew him.
