Wayne E. Clayton

Wayne E. Clayton age 50 of Bloomington, IL went home to be with the Lord at 10:52 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, IL. His funeral service will be 11:30 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at East White Oak Bible Church 11922 E. 2000 North Road, Carlock, IL. Rev. Scott Boerckel will be officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 AM-11:30 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at East White Oak Bible Church. His graveside service will be at 2:30 PM Saturday at East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington IL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Tri-Valley Education Foundation or to East White Oak Bible Church. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.

Wayne was born June 25, 1968 in Madison, Indiana. He married Jeanette Newberry on August 2, 1997 in Normal, IL.

He is survived by his wife and their two daughters, Hannah and Ashlyn Clayton at home, mother, Carol (Joe) Runyon, Lincoln, IL, father, Eddie (Pam) Clayton, Canton, IL, father and mother-in-law, Carroll and Nancy Newberry, Ellsworth, IL, sister in-laws, Jennifer (Kevin) Reeser, LeRoy, IL, Jody (Tod) Scott, Colorado, four nephews, Jake and Kyle Reeser, Owen and Quinn Scott, a dear aunt Sharon (Bobby) Allen, and their children Amber and Erin of Texas.

Wayne is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Wayne graduated from Lincoln High School and Illinois State University. He had worked at Stark Excavating Bloomington, IL as a Risk Manager for 16 years. Wayne was a member of the East White Oak Bible Church family. His greatest interest was supporting his daughters' activities and sporting events. Wayne had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling with his family. He valued the special relationships he built with so many friends and family throughout the years. Wayne was a loving, devoted son, husband, father, friend, and follower of Christ.
