Wauneta Sue Edwards 88, of Palmer, IL formerly of Taylorville and Blue Mound, passed away at 12:10 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024, in her daughter’s residence. A service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound, IL. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until service time. Interment will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound. Sue was born July 6, 1935, in Muncie, IN the daughter of William and Dorothy (Fasvacht) Huxhold. She married Carl T. Edwards on November 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1996. Sue was a member of the Joy Assembly Church in Stonington, IL and was a homemaker. Surviving are her children: Carl E. Edwards (Barb) of Taylorville, Wauneta Tipsword of St. Anna, Howard Edwards of Davenport, IA, Rose Krouse of Davenport, IA, and Dorothy Fishburn (Tony) of Palmer, IL; brothers: Roy Huxhold (Susan) of Danville, and Tommy Huxhold (Barb) of Champaign; sister: Kay Holden of Champaign; 134 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son: Pete Edwards and his wife Cindy, three brothers, one sister, one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all the team of HSHS Hospice for their care and compassion shown to the family.
