Virginia H. Streeper

Virginia H. Streeper, 102, formerly of Hudson, passed away at 2:40 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where visitation will begin one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Bloomington.

She was born February 17, 1916 on Springfield, IL, daughter of Albert and Anna Hund Ihlenfeldt. She married Jack G. Streeper on January 23, 1954, he preceded her in death on January 19, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jackie Streeper-Green; one brother and one sister.

Surviving are Jane (Rich) Sinnott of Ballwin, MO; a son-in-law, Jim Green of Trilla; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Virginia graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from Illinois State Normal University and then first worked as an elementary school teacher. She later worked as a secretary at Eureka Williams before staying home to raise her children. After child-rearing, she then worked as a secretary at the McLean County Sheriff's Department for several years.

She loved to travel the US with her husband, especially out West and she enjoyed camping.
