Virginia A. Rodden Obituary (1918

Virginia A. Rodden, 88, of Taylorville, IL died at 3:06 pm, Monday, November 20, 2006 at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. She was born January 23, 1918 in Divernon, IL, the daughter of Alex and Mabel Parrot Backovitch. She married John C. Rodden in April 1940 and he preceded in death on July 18, 1969. Mrs. Rodden was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She had been employed by Hopper Paper Company and was later an accountant for Georgia Pacific Paper Company. Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins including Jarod Katcher of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Carrol "Rabbit" Backovitch. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Friday, November 25, 2006 in McClure Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Vonck officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time in the funeral home on Friday.
