Carol Bottles

Virginia Carol Bottles, 95, of LeRoy, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at The Haven of Farmer City.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at the LeRoy First United Presbyterian Church, LeRoy, Illinois. A graveside service will follow at 1:15 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy, Illinois, with Pastor Bill McLean officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the LeRoy First United Presbyterian Church. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home of LeRoy, Illinois, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carol was born on January 17, 1930, in LeRoy, Illinois, a daughter of Harley and Letha (Vandevender) Scott. She married Harlan C. Bottles on February 12, 1948, in Weedman, Illinois. He survives.

She is also survived by her one son, Kevin (Patricia Lawson) Bottles; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Michael Eugene Bottles; brothers, Donald and Harold “Bud” Scott; sisters, Millie Allen, Dorothy Allen and Leona Meyers; and grandson, Michael Lynn Bottles.

Carol was a farm wife. She loved to be out in her garden, mowing grass, and tending to the baby lambs and cows. She would work all day, unload grains and still cook a large meal for all to be fed. She loved to cook and never let anyone leave hungry. When home and not working on the farm, Carol could be found sewing or doing cross stitch. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at The Haven of Farmer City, and Gentiva Hospice for all their love and care toward Carol. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, who will be deeply missed.
