Vincent Joseph Schwab Obituary (1915 - 2004)

Vincent Joseph Schwab, 88, of Taylorville, IL died at 4:30 pm Friday, March 19, 2004 in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. He was born July 10, 1915 in Brereton, IL, the son of Joseph and Phillipina Kauzlavich Svob. On February 21, 1941 he married Jean E. Johnson in Huntsville, AL and she preceded in death on August 26, 1983. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of V.F.W. Post 4495 and Knights of Columbus Council 2120, Taylorville. Mr. Schwab was a supply manager at Georgia Pacific and later was employed at Lakeshore Golf Course. Surviving are 2 sons, Joe Schwab of Jackson, MI and Mark Schwab of Ludington, MI; daughter, Barbara Lake of Herrin, IL and three grandchildren, Vincent Joseph Schwab of Taylorville, Philip George Schwab of Springfield and Adam Lane Schwab of Morrisonville, IL. His parents, wife, 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 23, 2004 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville with Father Martin O'Hara officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, March 22, 2004 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL.
