Viky Lynn Maton Obituary (1951 - 2018)

Viky Lynn Maton, 67, of Decatur passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Chatham Reflections Memory Care after a long battle with vascular dementia. She was born June 13, 1951 in Pana, daughter of Jack & Viola (Wirey) Armstrong. Viky was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1969 and received an associate degree from Southern Illinois University in 1971. She had worked as an office manager for National Greenhouse Company as well as Edison Pipe & Tubing. Viky was the favorite aunt who made everything fun and spoiled them with lots of Christmas presents. She was a kind & loving soul who will be sorely missed. Viky married the love of her life, David Maton, on August 12, 1972 in Pana and he survives in Decatur, IL, along with mother, Viola Armstrong, Pana, IL; siblings: Jacalyn (Gary) Seitz, Springfield, IL; Eric (Cheryl) Armstrong, Foley, AL; Kurt (Dana) Armstrong, Chatham, IL; sisters-in-law: Patricia (Mike) Lees, Maureen (Greg) Schaffer, Kathleen (Don) Flesch, Barbara O'Brien, Gloria Osa (Peter) Baginski; brother-in-law,Michael Maton; several nieces & nephews who loved her dearly; and best friends, Charles (Rosemary) Kolesar. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Armstrong and mother & father-in-law, Walter & Bobbie Maton. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Leon Goff officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Memorials in Viky's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
