Vera A. Smart

Vera A. Smart, 90, of Pana, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 7:03 p.m. in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 1, 1915 in Loomis, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bennett Lydia Beckett Anderson.
Vera married Wayne Smart on September 20, 1933 in Oconee. She helped her husband with the farming near Herrick until they retired and moved to Pana in 1973. She also was a caretaker.
Vera is survived by her children: Bill Smart wife Linda, Rushville, IL; June Rehfelt, Decatur, IL; Joy Winter, Shelbyville, IL; Kenny Smart wife Carol, Herrick, IL; Helen Baker husband Danny, Monterey, LA; Carolyn Bouchez, Pana, IL; Larry Smart wife Karla, Tower Hill, IL; 15 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 28, 1992; 3 sons: Mervin Smart, Melvin Smart, Garold Smart; 1 grandchild; 6 brothers; and 1 sister.
Funeral Information

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 20, 2006 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ron Newman officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
