Toni McKee

Toni Lynn McKee, 67, of Springfield, IL passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in St. Louis University Hospital. She was born December 26,1957 in Crawfordsville, IN, daughter of the late Loren C.” Moe” & Thelma L. (Nichols) McKee.
Toni received her Nursing degree in 1981 and was nurse at St. John’s Hospital for almost 30 years. While there she became a Certified Orthopedic Nurse (ONC) and completed her MBA. In 2011 she started McKee Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, LLC, through which she provided medical case consulting to attorneys.
Toni, along with her mom Thelma, loved to travel, particularly on cruises. They loved to recount their travels with lots of photos and stories so that we felt like we’d been there with them. Toni was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, even going to Florida for Spring training with Thelma. She loved traveling to Minnesota to see her godchildren and great godchildren. She often went to the Illinois State Fair and Spoon River Drive with them and loved watching their hockey games.
Toni enjoyed the dances at the Eagles Club with her mom and friends. One of Toni’s favorite summer activities was going to car shows with Leon with his 1941 Chevrolet Business Coupe. Penny & Bud, with Pat Gibson, her best friend, enjoyed going to listen to Leon & the boys in band. Pat & Toni had many adventures to Branson to enjoy the shows and food. And we can’t forget her love for Finn, Pat’s dog.
She was a caregiver, so totally a mother hen type. Toni helped so many friends and neighbors, taking care of everyone around her. The world needs more just like her and she will be greatly missed.
Toni was preceded in death by her parents and her aunts and uncles. She is survived by numerous cousins and their families.
