Tom “Tally” Hatalla, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2024. Thomas E. Hatalla, Jr. was born November 27, 1960, the son of Thomas E. and Ruth Ann (Bartz) Hatalla, Sr. Tally was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and had a passion for fishing, family trips, and curating an impressive collection of Harley memorabilia. He cherished moments spent watching wrestling and UFC alongside his children, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Tally dedicated his career to Richardsons Manufacturing as a skilled machinist, but he faced a significant challenge when diagnosed with PLS. Yet, this diagnosis never diminished his spirit. He was often seen tending to his yard or immersed in various projects, showcasing an unwavering determination to live life to the fullest. His tenacity and love for life remained steadfast until the very end. Tally will be profoundly missed, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends, who will remember him with love forever. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Hatalla; his daughter, Nickie (Ethan) Harley; his son, Nigel (Leigh) Hatalla and his step-son, Aaron (Brittany) Griffin. Tom was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother, Darrell (Lisa) Damm and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly. In keeping with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and his family will host a memorial service on October 3, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Virden American Legion.
