Tom Wood

Thomas M. “Tom” Wood, 90, of Normal, sadly passed away in his home, Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

A visitation will be held at Carmody-Flynn funeral Home in Bloomington, IL. from 10:00-11:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2025. Military rites will conclude the service. A private family interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.

Tom was born September 4, 1935, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of Daniel and Margaret (Milner) Wood. A devoted husband to Mary Jane (Ritchey) since February 24, 1962.

Tom was a loving father to four children, Timothy (Debbie) Wood, Lisle, IL. Karen Engel, Itasca, IL. Elizabeth O’Neil, Ludington, MI and Mark (Jennifer) Wood, Dallas, TX; and a dedicated grandfather to ten grandchildren, Hannah (Harry) Francis, Isabelle Wood and Zachary Wood; Quinten (Julie) Krisik and Zoe Engel; Nathan O’Neil and Carter O’Neil; Garret (Madison) Wood, Gabrielle Wood and Annabella Wood.

Tom graduated from Marshall University in 1957. He served in the US Navy from 1957-1959 and was stationed at Subic Bay, Philippines. He worked for State Farm’s Auto division for forty years, retiring April 1, 2000.

Tom loved golf, bowling and volunteered at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts. He enjoyed spoiling his family with exciting vacations, creating unforgettable memories.
