Thomas J. Letcher

Thomas J. Letcher, 87, of Destin, FL, formerly of Stonington, IL died at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Delta Health Care Center, Destin, FL. He was born April 7, 1918 in Stonington, IL the son of Thomas and Annie Gillespie Letcher. On June 26, 1937 he married Wilma Allen in Stonington, IL. Mr. Letcher was a prominent farmer in the Stonington area where he lived most of his lifetime until moving to Florida in 2001. Most recently he was a resident of Crystal Bay Assisted Living in Destin, FL. He was a member of the Stonington United Methodist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma Letcher of Destin, FL; Son: Fred Letcher and wife Denise of Houston, TX, Daughters: Janice O'Connor of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Phyllis Flowers of Destin, FL. 7 Grandchildren: Allen Letcher and wife Missy of Stonington, IL, Becky Chambers and husband Bob - Chillicothe, IL, Bob Wiltfong and wife Diana of Plainfield, IL, Tracy O'Hara and husband Tom of Germantown, TN, Margo Unterseh and Jenny Midgley and husband Jamie all of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and John Flowers of Destin, FL. 10 Great Grandchildren: Brock Letcher, Tristan Letcher, Hunter Chambers, Danny Wiltfong, Adam Wiltfong, Steven O'Hara, Shannon O'Hara, Dylan O'Hara, Sami Unterseh and Luke Unterseh. Brother: George Letcher and wife Gig of Stonington, IL and Sister, Caroline Murray of Vandalia. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, October 27, 2005 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL with Rev. Patty Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 26 at McClure Funeral Home.
