Thomas W. Durbin, Sr. 79, of Decatur, Illinois passed away peacefully at Decatur Memorial Hospital on December 30, 2017. Thomas was born on July 4, 1938 in Decatur, Illinois to parents Floyd R and Dorothy (Nottingham) Durbin. Thomas married Janet E. Oldfield on July 30, 1960, after 48 years of marriage she preceded him in death on August 14, 2008. Thomas worked as a tool maker for Mueller Company for 40 years when he retired. Thomas was a lifetime Mason and a member of Salem Baptist Church. Thomas is survived by his son: Thomas W. (Laurie) Durbin, Jr of Decatur; his daughter: Melony (David) Jinks of Albuquerque, NM; brother: Bill Durbin of Pana, Five grandchildren and Thirteen great-grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his son: Darin R. Durbin. A memorial service to celebrate Thomas' life will be held on a later date.
