Thomas C. Ford Obituary (1930 - 2024)

Thomas C. Ford Jr of Cullom, IL passed away at the age of 93. His funeral will be held on Monday January 29, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington, IL with Fr. Stan Drewniak officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Cullom, IL. A visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11:00am at the church. Memorials in Tom’s name may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Cullom, IL is handling the arrangements. Thomas was born on June 8, 1930 in Chatsworth, IL a son of Thomas C. and Veronica (Ryan) Ford Sr. He was the youngest in the family and the only son. He had three sisters, Ruth Langstaff, Helen Culkin and Bernice Glennon all of whom preceded him in death. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He farmed the family farm for years after the death of his father. June 15, 1963 he married the love of his life Evelyn Flynn and they had a daughter Mary who they adored and she adored them right back. They were preceded in death by their stillborn daughter Judith. Tom worked for Roper Corporation and then retired from the Pontiac Correctional Center. After retirement he and his wife traveled to many places and enjoyed going to the casino. They had a good time wherever they went together. Thomas was especially proud of his grandchildren, James Thomas Koslowski and Sophia Lucinda Koslowski. They were the light of his life. He enjoyed every minute they had together. He loved his buddy of 13 years, Barack, his miniature poodle and they traveled many miles together. Dad would always describe himself as an Irish Catholic Democrat, I call him my hero. Thomas is survived by his daughter: Mary (Gary) Koslowski; grandson: James Thomas Koslowski and granddaughter: Sophia Koslowski and many nieces and nephews.
