Terry L. Schott Obituary (1954

Terry L. Schott, age 69, of Pontiac, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 6:37 p.m. at his daughter’s residence in Pontiac, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Terry’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Terry was born on December 27, 1954, in Streator, IL, to Lloyd and Frances (Dixon) Schott. He married the love of his life, Gayle (Ellis) Schott on February 23, 1974, at the Presbyterian Church in Pontiac, IL. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2024. Survivors include his two daughters: Dawn (Gilbert) Rodriguez of Pontiac, and Kelly Schott of Pontiac, IL; four grandchildren: Abbi Schott, Alex Rodriguez, Alyssa Rodriguez, and Adam Rodriguez. He is also survived by three siblings: Viola Snyder of Odell, IL, Mary Davis of Arizona, and Cheryl Keenan of Pontiac, IL, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 50 years: Gayle Schott, and three siblings. Terry attended Pontiac Schools. He retired from International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150. Terry loved his life on his farm. He enjoyed taking care of his mules and horses, tinkering around the farm, and country living. He was a simple man who lived a simple and happy life. Above all, Terry loved his family beyond measure. He was truly the best husband, dad, grandpa, and friend.
