Terry L. Mullen Obituary (1955

Terry L. Mullen, 68, of Pontiac, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at his home on the mighty Vermillion River that he so dearly loved. Terry was born on August 24, 1955, in Streator, IL to John “Moon” and Joan M. (Hatzer) Mullen. He married Joanne Kamp on July 30, 1977. She passed away December 19, 2018. Surviving are his daughters, Jessica (Nick) Siwak of Minooka, Rebecca Mullen of Pontiac; grandchildren, Brixton and Beaux; sisters, Kathy (Jack) Moore of Johnson City, TX, Teresa (Gary) St. Cin of Coal City, IL, his lady-friend, Donna Dirks of Bloomington, IL, many nieces and nephews, and his “Beer-30” family. He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Joanne. Terry was always quick with a joke and had the best, big laugh. His daughters and grandkids were his greatest joy, second only to mowing his lawn. He was an avid coin collector and artifact enthusiast - with one of the largest collections of Livingston County arrowheads. He was educated in Cornell High School and attended Illinois State University, where he and Joanne met, and was a member of ATO Fraternity. In his early years, he was employed with his family’s business, Valley View Industries, later he was co-owner of NITEC Telecommunications for many years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac. There will be a private burial with family and close friends at a later date in Cornell Cemetery in Cornell, IL. Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society or the charity of your choice. In his honor, please take a long country drive, with your dog, your music up and windows down, while driving under the speed limit, like we all know he loved to do.
