Teresa Beck

Teresa “Toots” Margaret Beck, 93, of Oconee, passed away, Monday, March 25, 2024 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born on July 5, 1930, in Oconee, IL, the daughter of the late Herman and Agnes (Pollman) Holthaus. Teresa married Raymond Beck on April 21, 1951 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oconee and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2009.
She was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. “Toots” worked alongside her husband Raymond at Illinois Roses for over 40 years, she later worked at Mallory’s in Pana until they closed. She also worked at County Market before retiring.
Teresa is survived by many nieces, nephews, as well as many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Beck, siblings: Fritz Holthaus, Paul Holthaus, Raymond Holthaus, Arthur Holthaus, Carl Holthaus, Joseph Holthaus, Benjamin Holthaus, Adel Price, and Dorothy Lohr.
Funeral mass for Teresa will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oconee with Father Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oconee.
Memorials in Toot’s honor may be made to the Sacred Heart School and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
