Tamara "Tammy" Pulver 52, passed away on May 19, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 28, 1968, in Bloomington, Il, to parents Keith and Rosemary (Simpson) Miller. She graduated from Dwight Township High School with the class of 1986. In 1991, she received her B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University where she was a member of Rho Chi honor society, Kappa Epsilon professional fraternity and Shoemaker Cooperative Housing. While at Purdue, Tammy made lifelong friends and met her husband Robert Pulver while in pharmacy school. She and Rob married on May 25, 1991, and eventually returned to Dwight to build a life together.
Tammy and Rob continued to frequent Purdue University throughout the years taking their boys to football and basketball games and supporting the college of pharmacy. Her oldest son, Owen, is now a Boilermaker as he will be starting his third year of veterinarian school and their younger son Wesley graduated Cum Laude from Augustana University recently and is looking forward to a new adventure of living in Chicago and working for RedMane Technologies. She was extremely proud of her boys and their accomplishments.
Tammy worked as a pharmacist for almost 30 years before retiring in March of 2021 due to her illness. She worked the past 18 years for Green Tree Pharmacy as a long-term care consultant pharmacist. While working for Green Tree Pharmacy, she developed many friendships with the staff and residents of the facilities that she consulted. Tammy touched hundreds of lives during her tenure and took great pride in her work.
In high school, Tammy was salutatorian of her class and participated in many activities including drama, band, cheerleading and track. During her junior year, she qualified for the state track meet in the 200m dash.
In July of 2016, Tammy found another passion and became a May Kay consultant. This was a perfect match for her as she loved helping people and empowering women to see their own strength and beauty. She greatly appreciated the network of friendships she developed through May Kay and the support they provided during her illness.
Tammy was an active member of the Dwight United Methodist Church where she participated in the Dwight United Methodist Women's group and Hens' Bible Study Group. While her children were growing up, she was a Sunday School teacher as well as taking an active role in the summer bible school program for many years. Tammy's strong faith was a comfort to her and helped her through her illness.
Tammy had a love for life and knowledge and enjoyed so many things. She loved music and could be counted on to know the answer for any music question or most trivia for that matter. Her quick wit and joyful personality could brighten any occasion. She was a loving mother to Owen and Wesley and wife to Rob. She cherished the time when all four of them could be together. She felt so blessed to have the support of many friends and family members during her illness.
