Suzanne “Sue” Marie (Allen) Davis
July 1, 1960 - January 29, 2025
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend, Suzanne “Sue” (Allen) Davis, 64, of Pana, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL after a short battle with cancer. She was born on July 1, 1960, in Pana to the late David Clinton Allen and Phyllis Ruth (Eagan) Allen. Sue married the love of her life, Terrell Wayne “Terry” Davis, on May 6, 1978, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pana, and together they shared nearly 47 wonderful years of marriage.
A proud lifelong resident of Pana, Sue was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1978. She bled orange and blue, a true Panther through and through. Whether it was cheering on the Pana Panthers, supporting her daughter, Valerie, and grandsons, Ross and Grant, in everything they did, or reminiscing with her beloved Class of ’78 girlfriends, Sue embodied loyalty and love. She was the heart and soul of her class, helping to organize reunions and keeping friendships strong across decades. Her car’s license plate, “Pana 1,” said it all—her town, her team, and her community meant everything to her.
For over 30 years, Sue dedicated herself to her work as an Administrative Coordinator for the Christian County Soil and Water Conservation District. She had a deep passion for clean water, healthy soil, and preserving the land for future generations. Many of the connections she made through her career have turned into lasting friendships. A meticulous planner and an extraordinary organizer, she had a remarkable ability to remember everyone’s story and truly cared about people.
Beyond her professional life, Sue was happiest when surrounded by her family. She never missed a moment, a game, a milestone, or an opportunity to celebrate the people she loved. She adored animals, sharing her home with many cherished cats and dogs over the years. She found joy in beautiful flowers, filling her yard with vibrant colors every spring and summer. Shopping trips, discovering great restaurants, and enjoying live music with Terry by her side were some of her favorite pastimes.
Sue is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Davis; her daughter and best friend, Valerie Davis Lynch of Pana; and her two treasured grandsons, Ross Andrew Lynch and Grant Allen Lynch, all of Pana. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Jimmy Blakley, Cyndi Richards, Trista Prince, Christy Hunt, and Jeff Moore and their families, as well as her brother- and sister-in-laws Linda and Jim Blakley and Larry and Sharon Sprinkle. She also has several cherished great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Justin Andrew Davis, who passed away in 2010 after bravely battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Sue touched so many lives, and her family welcomes everyone to celebrate her life at her church, United in Faith Church in Pana, IL.
