Skip Schott II Obituary (1949 - 2023)

Skip Schott, 74, of Lexington, IL passed away at his home on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 3:01 p.m. Cremation rites were accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held from 2 - 5 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Lexington Community Center, 207 West Main Street, Lexington, IL 61753. Inurnment will be private at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America or Kiwanis Club of Lexington. Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Memorial Home, Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements. Skip was born May 20, 1949, in Pontiac, IL the son of Gail L. and Beverly Keirsey Schott. Surviving are two sisters Layne McCormick of Wilmington and Rodi Carter of Hometown; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend Eugene Zabilka. Skip graduated from Reavis High School, Oak Lawn, IL and served in the US Marines in the Vietnam War. He drove a truck for 30 years for various companies. He loved spending time at the lake house in Michigan and fishing, he also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
