Shirley M. Gorham

Shirley M Gorham passed away at the age of 87 at Goldwater Care in Bloomington, IL on Friday, August 18, 2023.

The family is planning a celebration of life for her on Sunday, October 15th in Dixon, IL. Final details will be available later.

She was born on December 9th, 1935 in Dixon, IL, the daughter of Esther (Trotter) and William Thayer.

She attended nursing school at Swedish American in Rockford and worked as a Nurse at the Dixon Developmental Center for many years. After that, she earned her Real Estate license and was a Realtor in Dixon until she decided she needed more of a challenge and moved to Bloomington, IL where she continued a long, successful career as a Realtor and Broker. She helped many families with their dreams of home ownership and earned many designations and awards over her 40+ year career in Real Estate. She volunteered for the local Realtor's Association, the local hospitals and for many other community organizations.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers - Norman, Larry and Lowell Thayer and her sister Sally Stover.

She is survived by her son, Michael Gorham of Dodgeville WI, her daughter Laura (Gorham) Stanfield of Sun Prairie, WI and her two grandsons, Evan and Carson Stanfield.
