Sherrill Kaye Peifer Obituary (1953

Sherrill Kaye Peifer passed away peacefully on February 25 after a courageous fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her loving husband, John and daughter, Kayla were by her side. Sherry was born May 1, 1953 to Jay Lane and Lucy Greiner Ballinger. Sherry is survived by her two sisters, Vicky (Chuck) Scott and Lorie (Todd) Vance. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, stepfather Al Ballinger, mother, and stepbrother Gary Ballinger. Sherry had a spirited and spicy personality. She tried, usually successfully, to keep John in line. They enjoyed 53 years of wedded bliss together. Kayla joined them in 1987 and was Sherry’s greatest pride. They always enjoyed the many years of wiener roasts with family and friends at their home. Sherry worked for ISU, College Hills Food Shoppe, and ended her career with State Farm in 2017. Sherry will be greatly missed. The joy of the party will now and forevermore be watching over her dear friends and family. A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held May 1 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at her home.
