Sharon Miller

Sharon Katherine Miller, 79, of Auburn, IL, formerly of Thayer, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2025, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.
Sharon was born April 4, 1946, in Streator, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann Martonchik Gubach. She married Walter William Miller on June 27, 1964, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden, IL.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Walter Miller of Auburn, IL; their children, Angela McCarty of Auburn, IL, William (Michelle) Miller of Auburn, IL, Timothy (Michelle) Miller of Auburn, IL, Robert Miller of Auburn, IL, Patricia McClelland of Auburn, IL, and Sarah Beth (Randy) Newingham of Waverly, IL; 12 grandchildren: Thomas (Melissa) Hemberger of Western Springs, IL, Ryan (Amber) Hemberger of Willowbrook, IL, Phillip McCarty of Chicago, IL, Jacob Miller of Auburn, IL, Ashley (Xavier) Miller of Auburn, IL, Kaylie Jackson, Kourtney (Bryan) Haley of Carlinville, IL, Brandon Miller of Carlinville, IL, J.C. (Megan) McClelland of Girard, IL, Chelsey (Jonathan) McClelland of Springfield, IL, Breawna Miller of Waverly, IL, and Sydney (John) March of Riverton, IL; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas John Gubach of Thayer, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Patricia.

Sharon was a graduate of Virden high school and married Walter shortly after to start
their family. She loved spending time with her husband, kids and grandkids. Her favorite past time was spent in the yard which she kept beautiful and bountiful. Her favorite season was Spring, because everything was coming to life and blooming. As a devoted Catholic, she lived her life through faith and love, always taking care of others. Her love and generosity was endless.

She was a hard worker and enjoyed almost 30 years at the post office as a mail carrier
delivering mail until the age of 75.

She was loved by everyone.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden, IL. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden, IL. Burial will follow in Virden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden, IL.
