Shari was born January 24, 1962, in Danville, IL the daughter of Charles and Sharon (Coonce) Shull. She married Jeffery “Jeff” L. Mays on February 21, 1987, and shared over 39 years together. Shari most recently worked as a lunch room attendant at the Mt. Zion Grade School where she genuinely cared for the children she served. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Shari enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine whether working in her yard, reading a book, or just soaking in the sun. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to various beaches with her husband and family. Shari was the heart of our home and had a passion for cooking for her family. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband: Jeff of Mt. Zion; sons: Nicklas Ryan Mays (Andrea) of Chatham and Lucas Ian Mays (Rowan) of Peoria Heights; step-mother “mom” Charleen Shull of Georgetown, IL; grandchildren: Olivia Rose Mays and Rhett Wyatt Mays; sisters: Dorrie Pierce (Michael) of Danville and Kris King (James) of Danville; Jill Barnfield (Barry) of Mt. Vernon, brother: Darrin Shull (Kimeri) of Dwight, IL; mother-in-law: Janet Mays of Mt. Vernon, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Shari was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Gary “Chuck” Crawford, and her father-in-law: James Mays.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Doctors and staff of Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois for all their care and compassion shown to Shari and her family.
