Scott L. Foster

Scott L. Foster, 53, of Normal, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at his home. A celebration of Scotts life will be announced at a later date. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to P.A.T.H. Crisis Center, 201 E. Grove St., Ste 200, Bloomington, IL 61701 or to the Illinois Valley Parachute Club, 7497 Mackinaw Rd., Minier, IL 61759. He was born October 8, 1963 in Santa Rosa, California, the son of Les and Marilyn Hunter Foster. He married Julia Lilienthal on August 20, 1985. Surviving are three children, Nicholas Foster of Normal, Cameron Foster of Kappa, and Lauryn Foster of Normal; his parents, Les Marilyn Foster of Normal; a sister, Stacey (Dale) Danklefsen of Danvers; a niece and two nephews, Alyssa (Brandon) Nicol, Nathan (Kelsey) Frankfather and Scotty Schultz; and several great-nieces and nephews. Scott graduated from Illinois State University and was employed by State Farm Insurance Companies for 27 years. Known for his adventurous spirit, Scott was an avid skydiver with over 1500 jumps and was a member of the Illinois Valley Parachute Club and Discover Powered Paragliding. He was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed motocross and NASCAR. Scott enjoyed working with his hands and was a skilled craftsman. More than anything, he will be remembered for his selflessness; he was always willing to help another in need, expecting nothing more than their appreciation in return.
