Sandra Shilt

–

Le Roy, Illinois

Sandra Kay “Sandi” Shilt, 68, of Normal, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Sandi was born on March 15, 1958, in Le Roy, Illinois, where she was raised and built the foundation of the warm, vibrant spirit so many came to love. She later made her home in Normal, Illinois. Sandi dedicated many years of her life to her career with State Farm, where she was known for her reliability and kind nature before retiring in 2015.

Sandi found her greatest joy in life through the simple things—especially the companionship of her beloved cats, Molly and Mitsy, who were truly her “fur babies.” She will always be remembered for her smiling, bubbly personality and the light she brought into every room. Even through life’s challenges, she carried herself with strength, grace, and a positive spirit that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Karen Shilt of Normal, Illinois, and her brother, Robert Shilt of Benson, North Carolina; her nieces, Pamela Shilt of Bryson City, North Carolina, and Gina Aiken of Benson, North Carolina; her nephew, Anthony Nuckols of Le Roy, Illinois; and her great-niece, Allison Jacobs of Salemburg, North Carolina. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lela Shilt of Le Roy, Illinois.

Sandi’s life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and quiet joy. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing she is now with Jesus —free from pain and wrapped in eternal love. Her spirit will continue to shine in the laughter she shared, the love she gave, and the countless memories held close by those who knew her. Until we meet again, she will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Visitation will be from 11-12:00 pm Tuesday May 5, 2026 at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy, IL.
