Sandra Ann "Sandy" Kolb Obituary (2023)

Sandra “Sandy” Ann Kolb, 88, of Toluca, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, 6:05 pm at Snyder Village, Metamora. Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Washburn. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 am at the Cazenovia Mennonite Church. Dennis Kennell will officiate. Visitation will also be held Saturday, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at Crow Meadow Presbyterian Cemetery, Varna. Memorials may be made to the Crow Meadow Presbyterian Cemetery. Sandy was born October 18, 1935, at Saint Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL to James and Dorothy (Foster) Rae. She married Verle Kolb on February 14, 1954, at the Washburn Presbyterian Church. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Larry (Renay) Kolb, of Toluca, Gary (Sharon) Kolb, of Roanoke, Lisa Kolb, of Toluca and Kimberly (Robert) Sasso, of Washburn, eight grandchildren, Kurtis Kolb, Ashlie Miller, Lindsey Gummer, Kristen Hostetler, Kevin Kolb, Kara Garber, Kyle Kolb, and Logan Sasso, and eleven great-grandchildren. Her parents and one son, Lyle Kolb, preceded her in death. Sandy was a member of the Cazenovia Mennonite Church, a former member of the Junior Woman’s Club, served as an election judge for many years, and a member the “Birthday Bunch”. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. One of her favorite hobbies was to visit on the phone. She will be remembered for her cooking, especially her peach butter, pickle relish, and salads.
