Sally Lee Case

–

Bloomington, Illinois

Sally Lee Case, 62, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully at 3:35 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. A private family service will be held at a later date at her family farm in Wisconsin. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be designated to cancer research at Mayo Clinic. Gifts can be mailed directly to Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55905. Memorial gifts may also be directed to the American Cancer Society. She was born August 19, 1954 and raised in Western Springs, a daughter of Rexford E. and Ella Mae Beaird Bruno. She married Martin W. Case on July 3, 1976 and he survives in Bloomington. Also surviving are four children, Logan (Eric) Dargatz of Brookfield, WI, Scott Case of Chicago, Ryan (Jessica) Case of Sun Prairie, WI and Kyle Case of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Rex Dargatz, Bo Dargatz and Zella Case; and two sisters, Barbara (David) Headley of Cortez, CO and Susan (Stuart) Krawll of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sally earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in industrial science education at Colorado State University. She was very active in parent/teacher organizations while her children were in school and often served as the treasurer of those organizations. Sally had an incredibly creative soul. She was a talented seamstress, cook, baker and gardener as well as a gifted woodworker. It can be said that very few things brought Sally as much joy as doing things for others. Whether taking care of her parents as they aged, building furniture and designing clothing for her children and grandchildren, or working side by side with her husband in their business, everything Sally did was done with love.
