Sally Hayden

Sally Ann Hayden, 82, of Bloomington, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, in Normal.

Her service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2025, at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal with Rev. David Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Merna. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Monday, at the church. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sally was born March 27, 1943, in Matteson, Illinois, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Fridley) Mayo. She married Jerome D. “Jerry” Hayden on August 14, 1965, in Bloomington.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hayden, Bloomington; a son, John (Jill) Hayden, Chicago; two sets of twin grandchildren, Jack and Riley Hayden and Chase and Luke Hayden.

Sally graduated from Illinois State University. She taught PE and Drivers Education for three years in Central Illinois, including Saybrook-Arrowsmith High School, Central Catholic High School and Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School.

Sally groomed and showed dogs for thirty-five years, owning and operating Pampered Pet Grooming in her home for twenty-five of those years. She also owned and operated Dan Ann Kennel, where she bred, raised and showed German Shepards. Sally was an AKC licensed judge and had judged across the United States and Canada.
