Roxanne Kemp

Roxanne Kemp, 65, of Dwight, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at her home in Dwight, Il.

As per Roxanne’s wishes, there will be no services, but the family will be holding a Celebration of Life on March 8, 2025, at the Aroma Park Legion, 739 S. Sandbar Rd, Kankakee, IL from 1-4pm. Hager Memorial Home of Dwight has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Roxanne was born on December 3, 1959, in Kankakee, Illinois. The daughter of Richard Walter Kemp and Janeane Francis (Egan) Kemp.

She is survived by her three sisters: Diana Smallwood of Kankakee, IL., Nancy Price of Kankakee, IL. and Dawn (Jim) Barnes of Dwight, IL. Her nieces: Deanna Keeler of Dwight, IL., Stephanie (Brandt) Winters of Bourbonnais, IL., Jordan Kemp of Kankakee, IL.,; her nephews, Godson, Derek(Cassandra) Kemp of Rantoul, IL., David Keeler of Dwight, IL., Jean "JJ" (Akila) Almonord of Kankakee, great nieces, Diamond Kemp of Kankakee, Samantha Taylor and Sabrina Bowling, of Rantoul, IL and great nephews, Lamari Fields of Kankakee, IL., and Cody Taylor of Rantoul, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son DeWan Jones, sister Michelle Pray and a brother Dean Allen Kemp.

Roxanne enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, bowling, playing cards, cooking on the grill, playing with the family dog, Ghost, and spending time with family.
