Rosemary J. Scott 94 of Pontiac, IL died Monday May 13, 2024 at 7:38am at Evenglow Inn, Pontiac, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Rosemary’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Preschool in El Paso, IL Calvert & Martin Funeral Home , Pontiac is handling the arrangements. Rosemary was born on April 12, 1930 in Bloomington, IL a daughter of John and Hildreth (Shumaker) Peiffer. She married George C. Johnson on May 14, 1956 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1983. She later married Julius S. “Pat” Scott on December 20, 1999 in Branson, Mo and he preceded her in death on October 16, 2015. Survivors include: one grandson: Barry (Grace) Johnson of Pontiac, IL; three great- grandchildren: Skylar (Dustin) Throw, Conner and Sadie Johnson; one brother: Jim Peiffer of Bloomington, IL; two sisters: Marge Rafferty of LeRoy, IL and Kay Raydon of Bloomington, IL; five step-children: Joanne (Gene) Agnew of Towanda, IL, Dan (Milda) Scott of SanAntonio, TX, Barb Scott of Cotopaxi, CO, Deb (Dave) Buck of Springfield, Il and Carolyn (Mark) Carpenter of Taylor, MO; nine step-grandchildren; six step greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by one son: James and eight brothers and sisters. Rosemary was educated in Bloomington, IL schools. She had been employed at Admiral Whirlpool. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in El Paso, IL. Rosemary volunteered her time at the preschool of her church and loved all the little children there. She was a very fun hands on great grandma to her grandchildren who will miss her funny light hearted personality as she was always cracking jokes.
