Ronald E. Stauffer

Ronald E. Stauffer, 82, of Saybrook, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Gibson City Annex.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Wesbein United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. A burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook, IL.

Ronald was born on April 2, 1941, in Saybrook, IL, a son of Calvin and Lillian (Hammel) Stauffer.

Surviving are two daughters, Denise (Shaun) Foutch of Reynolds, IN, and Stacie (Brad) Talley of Saybrook, IL; one brother, Rex (Jan) Stauffer of Bloomington, IL; one sister, Nelda Jordan of Gibson City, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Jamie) Studholme of Greenfield, IN, and Cole (Nicole) Foutch of Buffalo, IN; and three great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

Ronald was a US Army veteran. He was a member of the Wesbein United Methodist Church and Saybrook American Legion. Ronald was Mayor of Saybrook for over 20 years. He retired from ISU after 40 plus years. Ronald loved to fish, taking yearly trips to Michigan, but most of all he loved his family. He was always known for throwing the biggest cookouts in town for all family and friends.
