Rodney Conlin

Rodney “Rod” Michael Conlin, 58, of Auburn, IL, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Rod was born December 10, 1967, in Charleston, IL, the son of Michael and Sonya (Manley) Conlin. He married Angela Cundiff June 11, 1988, in Divernon, IL.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Angie Conlin of Auburn, IL; his parents, Michael (Sonya) Conlin of Auburn, IL; his brother, Sean (Melissa) Conlin of Pennsylvania; his sister, Kelly (Jamie) Maul of Jacksonville, IL; his brother-in-law, Randy (Melissa) Contreras of Lowder, IL; his sister-in-law, Tyra (Adam) Whitehead of Chatham, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and their beloved cat, Morris. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and two aunts, Peggy and Nancy.

Rod graduated from Auburn High School, class of 1986. Rod was an avid outdoorsman from a young age. He had a passion for fishing and hunting and being outside in general. He was known to hunt turkey, deer, dove, pheasant, squirrel and rabbit. He also would take notes and record statistics every time he would go fishing. His knowledge for the outdoors was incredible! Rod was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a dedicated husband, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home with pastor Chuck Kurfman officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. Per Rod’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
