Robert Parrott

Robert E. “Bobby” Parrott, 67, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Shelbyville Rehab. He was born September 12, 1956 in Charleston, SC.
Bobby graduated from Lanphier High School in 1975 and then joined the U.S. Army. He attended Calvary Temple Church in Springfield, IL and worked as a semi-truck driver and bus driver. Bobby was an avid Cubs fan and loved Nascar & his cats, Bozer and Midnight. He also enjoyed politics and served as a precinct committeeman.
Bobby married Vicki Hickson and they had two children. They later divorced, but remained friends and she preceded him in death.
Bobby is survived by his children: Robert Parrott, Jr., Springfield, IL and Angie (Louie) Phillips, Clinton, TN; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Dean) Steward, Pawnee, IL; special little friend, Reilley Nohren, who came to the nursing home to color with him and siblings: Cheryl (Randy) Kinsey, Pana, IL; James Esslinger, Springfield, IL; Margaret Parrott, Shelbyville, IL; Christine (Ken) White, Hagner, AL; Fred (Sherri) Esslinger, Arab, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Parrott; mother, Patricia Earl; grandson, James David Parrott and brother, George Esslinger.

Cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned.
Memorials in Bobby’s honor may be made to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
