Robert McElvaney

Robert McElvaney, 71, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Historic St. Patrick's Church. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home.

He was born June 8, 1948 in Bloomington, son of Bernard and Theo N. Dugger McElvaney.

Bob is a United States Army Reserve veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #56.

Surviving are one daughter, Kriste Sweeney; one granddaughter, Ashley Sweeney; one sister, Susann (Rich Batrich) MacLachlan; two nephews, James and Scott McLaughlin; one niece, Kasey McLaughlin; one brother-in-law, Jim McLaughlin.

He was passionate about volunteering for the Special Olympics. Bob was a die-hard Cardinals and Packers fan.
