Henry:
Robert Eugene Miller, 84, of Henry, formerly of Magnolia, passed away Saturday August 15, 2026, 9:53 pm at OSF St. Jospeh Medical Center, Bloomington.
Per Robert’s request, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry is in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born January 6, 1942, in Magnolia, IL to Harry and Esther (Johnson) Miller. He married Myrtle M. Bruce on January 20, 1963, in Magnolia, IL. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2007.
Surviving is his loving daughter, Mary (Dennis) Hatch, who took care of him, loving grandchildren, Shauntai (RaeAnne) Switzer, Maryssa (Vince) Javier, loving great grandchildren, Domonik and Isabella Switzer, and baby DanDan Pouk. Also surviving are daughters, Debbie Collins, Lisa Daum, three more grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
His parents, three brothers, Harry Jr., Marion and Johnie Miller and a sister, Becky Tweedy and granddaughter, Jessica Pouk, preceded him in death.
Robert was a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church.
Robert started his working career working with his father in his corn shelling business. He worked at Henry Sunoco station and went on to operate an auto repair shop out of his garage and later on working at Dennis Mahoney Ford, and most recently at McClain Ford, Henry. When he retired, he also drove a school bus for many years for Illinois Central Bus, Johannas and First Student.
He served on the Magnolia Fire Department and was Chief for several years. He was a proud member of the Marshall-Putnam County Antique Tractor Association.
