Rita V. Mell

Rita V. Mell, 65, of Taylorville, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in her residence. She was born June 17, 1943 in Medford, Massachusetts, the daughter of Daniel F. and Emma Gertrude Lane Buckley. Rita had lived in Decatur, Assumption, Pana, but had lived in Taylorville for the past 15 years. She was a homemaker. Rita was a member of the Pana Eagles Club and loved to play bingo.
She married Walter L. Mell in March 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Rita is survived by her children: Dale "Butch" Mell, Pana, IL Debbie Goodrich, Taylorville, IL; 5 grandchildren: Courtney Goodrich, Britney Goodrich, Steven Goodrich, Joshua Goodrich, all of Taylorville, IL Matthew Goodrich, Jacksonville, IL; granddog: Lucky; brothers sisters: Joan Crawley, Ridgewood, NY; June Wesley, Ridgewood, NY; Eileen Guzman, Keyesport, NJ; Daniel Buckley, Melrose, MA; John Buckley, Melrose, MA; Mary Marchetti, Melrose, MA; Barbara Norton, Fredericksburg, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on June 30, 1994; one sister in infancy.
