Rita L. Bolen

Rita L. Bolen, 94, Arizona, formerly of Pontiac died on Monday, August 21, 2023, in Chandler, AZ.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac with Father Joe Baker. Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Odell.

There will be a visitation on September 1, 2023, from 9:00 until the time of the service at the church.

Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac is in charge of the arrangements.

Rita was born on July 29, 1929, in Union Township, Odell to Thomas and Hazel (Puffer) Doughan. She married Andrew B. Bolen on December 23, 1946, in Chicago, he died December 20, 1998.

Surviving are her children, son, Jerry Bolen of Odell; daughter, MaryJean White of Chandler, AZ; grandchild, Bryan Zimmerman of Bloomington.

Preceded in death by her parents, spouse Andrew; brother, John Doughan; sisters, Mary Ellen Blue, Teresa Wilson, Lorraine Fouts, and Sister Monica Nagler.

Rita attended Union Township Grade school and graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in Odell. She had been a cook for Odell Grade School for many years, worked for numerous local nursing homes in housekeeping, employed with Alan's Pub and Grub of Pontiac. Family suggests memorials be made to the VA Hospital of their choice.
