Richard E. "Rick" Singer, 64, of Bloomington, passed away after a warrior's fight with leukemia on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Rick, as he was known to his friends and family, will be missed by many.
Rick retired from Illinois Department of Transportation and left a legacy as one of the best Foreman around. At the height of his career, he ran two yards and oversaw the successful operation of both. The only thing Rick was more proud of was his family.
Rick was married to the love of his life, Barbara Singer, for 39 years. They have two wonderful sons, Joseph Singer and Ryan Singer. Rick built his life around Barbara and the boys and opened his heart to their wives, Karen Singer and Wendy Singer.
As his family expanded, so did his heart as he became "Popop" to Joey Jr, Ethan, Logan, Kylie, Aidan and Quinn Singer.
He sought opportunities to help those who needed it and will forever be known as the handyman in his neighborhood. His life was full of love, happiness and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate. To express condolences online, please visit www.carmodyfynn.com.
