Richard Boyd Mote Obituary (1935

Richard Boyd Mote, 80, of Bloomington, died at 11:50 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Heritage Health, Normal. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association. He was born March 23, 1935 in Coshocton, Ohio, a son of Boyd Charles and Hazel McFarland Mote. He married Barbara Baird Bohannon on August 21, 1955 in Kingsport, Tennessee. She survives in Bloomington. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Mote and John Mote, both of Bloomington; one granddaughter, Claire Duvall; two step-grandchildren, Robert Lane and Karen Dixon; and a brother, Larry (Judy) Mote of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Mote. He earned his bachelors degree in Engineering at the Indiana Institute of Technology and retired from General Electric in 1995 where he worked as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sailing, computers and reading.
