Rene P. Leneve age 71 of Bloomington IL passed away at 12:55 PM on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL. His funeral service will be 11:00 Friday, January 12, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington, IL. Pastor Billy Newell will be officiating. Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington IL. Pastor Billy Newell will be officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM-11:00 Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington, IL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Pet Central Helps 360 Wylie Drive, Normal IL. 61761 for animal rescue. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.

Rene was born June 3, 1946 in Bloomington, IL the son of William and Virginia Hartman Leneve. He married Marilyn Hunter on October 7, 1978 in Bloomington, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his two children, Aaron Leneve, Bloomington, IL, Anne (Travis) Mattingly, Bloomington, IL, 2 grandchildren, Mackenzie Mattingly, Bloomington, IL, Emett Hubbard, Bloomington, IL, 2 brothers, Robert Leneve, Bloomington, IL and Richard (Cheryl) Leneve, Dunlap, IL.

Rene is preceded in death by parents.

Rene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington, IL. He was a book binder and owned and operated Central Illinois Book Binding and for the last 20 years. Rene had worked for Cub Foods Bloomington, IL and Niemen's Grocery Store retiring in 2015. He was an avid metal detector enthusiast and when he was young he played drums in a local band.
