Raymond "Allen" Rhodes Obituary (1952

Raymond “Allen” Rhodes, 72 of Virden passed away unexpectedly, January 24, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. He was born December 15, 1952 in Jacksonville, IL, the son of Raymond and Lillie (Critchelow) Rhodes. Allen loved fishing and hunting and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. Allen is survived by his daughters, Tabatha Palmer, Heather Walters and Jessica (Jon) Smith; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, James Rhodes and David (Rhonda) Rhodes; sisters, Rosa “Catherine” (Bruce) Smith and Nora Alice Ater and numerous nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, brothers William Robert and Albert Rhodes and sisters Mary Francis Carter, Annie Smith and Rena “Maggie” Wilkey. In keeping with his wishes, cremation rites were accorded, and a Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested and may be made to Prairieland Ambulance, 610 S.
