Pauline M. Stilts Bland Obituary (1905

Pauline M. Stilts Bland, 97, of Taylorville, IL died at 3:55 pm Saturday, September 7, 2002 in her residence. She was born March 11, 1905 in Owaneco, IL the daughter of Benjamin G and Elizabeth M. Fleckenstein Stilts. On October 28, 1936 she married Edward A. "Red" Bland at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville and he preceded in death on January 28, 1969. Mrs. Bland was a telephone operator for the Owaneco Telephone Company many years ago, and was a homemaker. Her memberships include St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville; Catholic Daughter's of America; Central Association of Miraculous Medal; The Association of The Miraculous Medal; Maryknoll Mission Society and the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate (Oblates). Surviving are: 2 daughters, Judy White and husband Bill and Sally Durbin both of Taylorville. 5 Grandchildren: Diana Smith and husband Dennis of Taylorville; Bonny Brown and husband Jeffrey of Lewiston, Idaho; Greg Durbin and wife Teresa; James M White and Jeffery L. White all of Taylorville. There are 4 Great Grandchildren, 6 step-Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild and 5 Step Great-Great Grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, 1 son David E. Bland, 3 brothers, George Stilts, Sydney Stilts and Herbert Stilts and 1 sister, Mrs. Clarence (Besse) Simpson. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 11, 2002 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville with Fr. Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Owaneco Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:30. Memorials may be made to: Red Bland Little League or St. Vincent Hospital Hospice Program.
