Patricia "Kush" A. Lyons Obituary (1936

Patricia A. "Pat" "Kush" Lyons, 86, of Pontiac, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 2:20 a.m. at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac, IL with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pontiac, IL. Pat was born January 27, 1936, in Streator, IL, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Kacmarik) Kusnerik. She married Owen J. Lyons on June 1, 1957, at St. Stevens Catholic Church in Streator, IL. He survives in Pontiac, IL. Surviving are her sons, Mike (Pam) Lyons of Pontiac, IL, Rick (Amy) Lyons of Pontiac, IL, Steve (Tami) Lyons of Gridley, IL, Patrick Lyons of Flanagan IL, and Edward Lyons of Santa Barbara, CA. Pat has ten grandchildren, Andrew Lyons, Seth Lyons, Melissa Hall, Kevin Lyons, Grace Lyons, Garrett Lyons, Nick Lyons, Whitney Weatherford, Sam Lyons and Samantha Trainor and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Lawrence Kusnerik, Francis Kusnerik, Daniel Kusnerik, Ervin Kusnerik, and John Kusnerik; and one sister, Delores Nielsen. Pat was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1953. Along with her husband, she was owner, operator, and bookkeeper of Lyons Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning in Pontiac for over 50 years. Pat was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she and Owen helped decorate for holidays and cleaned in their retirement. Pat loved to cook and bake and was famous for all her homemade treats! Pat was also a member of the St. Mary's Women's Guild, St. Mary's Liturgy, and St. Mary's Adoration. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Mary's Catholic Church, or the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry.
