Patricia K. Behrends Obituary (1939

Patricia Kaye Stienbarger Behrends of Decatur, IL, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025. Patricia (Patsi) was born on December 27, 1939, in Quincy, IL. To W.M. Stienbarger and Vivian Joplin Stienbarger. Patsi was a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, IL, and held a postgraduate degree from the University of Illinois in education. She was an educator in the Decatur Public Schools for thirty years. Surviving are two daughters, Natalie (Jason) Garner of Cape Coral, Florida, Stephanie (Michael) Madix of Bloomington, IL, granddaughters, Riley and McKensie Madix of Bloomington, IL, and her beloved Persian cat, Cecil. Patsi enjoyed more than anything her family, family trips to Florida, the visual arts, reading, movies, and as much golf as she could play. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Decatur, Illinois at 3373 North Woodford Street, Decatur, Illinois 62526. Per Patsi’s request there will be no services and cremation rites will be accorded. She has requested that her cremains be spread on Sanibel Island, Florida, with her immediate family all together to celebrate my life.
