Pamela Steward

Bloomington, Illinois

Pamela Lee (Cribbet) Steward, age 82, of Bloomington, IL, passed away on September 7th. Pam was born on November 19, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of John and Betty Cribbet.

Pam was a 1961 Urbana High School graduate and then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1965. She married the love of her life, Tom Steward, of Clinton, IL. Together, they raised three children on a farm outside of Waynesville, IL.

Pam was a devoted educator for many years at McLean-Waynesville Elementary. She was active in many organizations such as Kappa Kappa Gamma, PEO and book clubs. She was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and loved attending bible study.

More than anything, Pam loved her family. She was happiest when everyone was together, whether it was for a holiday or a family vacation to see her sister, Carol, in Tucson. She especially treasured being a grandmother and will forever be “MIMI” in the hearts of her grandchildren. Her support and love through the years was a constant for them, and they will always remember her fun-loving spirit that made each of them feel special.

Pam also cherished her time with her dear friends and extended family. You could often find them shopping at the local boutiques, antique stores, and dining at many restaurants. Her friends meant the world to her and included people from childhood all the way to present.

Pam is survived by her sister, Carol (Michael) Cribbet-Bell, of Tucson, AZ, son, Jon (Karla) Steward of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter, Becky (Tom) Westerfield, of Bloomington, IL, daughter, Libby (Kyle) Blumer, of Fox River Grove, IL, and her seven grandchildren, TJ Steward, Ty Steward, Taylor Steward, Philip (Vanessa) Westerfield, Maggie Westerfield, Kamryn Blumer, and Riley Blumer.

Pam’s family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, surrounded by the loving grace of God and reunited with her beloved husband, Tom. Her influence will continue in the lives of her children and grandchildren in the traditions she created and the love of family that was so very apparent in all that she did.

Pam's visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. A procession to Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton will follow the service. Please visit Calvert-Metzler's website to share memories on Pam's obituary page at calvertmemorial.com
