Pamela "Pam" McNear Obituary (1962 - 2024)

Pamela J. McNear, 61 of Girard, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024 at Lakeside Nursing & Rehab Center in Carlinville surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born October 3, 1962 in Springfield, daughter of Eugene and Doris (Schroll) Dickey. She married Steve McNear on June 17, 1987 and he survives her passing. Pamela had co-managed the Casey’s General Store in Auburn for numerous years and her favorite thing in life was seeing her customers and catching up with old friends and also loved fishing. In addition to her husband, Steve, she is survived by her sons Robert & Samuel McNear; daughter Lynda Watters; 4 grandchildren; sisters Donna & Linda Dickey and Joyce (Arthur) Thomas along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In keeping with Pamela’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and her family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
